Triple color change thermal dust is also often called three color-changing thermal powder, 3 colors shifting thermochromic pigment or heat sensitive pigment. In fact, it is a mixture of 2 kind colors of Color to Colorless Thermal Dust + 1 color of ordinary color powder (usually we choose fluorescent pigment, which has weak covering power and will not affect the color of the temperature-changing pigment itself).


Triple color change thermal dust

For example:

Color change effect: Dark coffee→Orange→Yellow Triple color change thermal dust

Dark coffee color turns into orange and finally turns into yellow.

Material: Turkish blue (color-colorless series) thermal dust + red (color-colorless series) thermal dust + yellow fluorescent pigment

The color change steps are as follows:

The first stage (low temperature stage): When the temperature is lower than T1 (for example <21℃). At this time, the color you see is a mixture of Turkish blue + red + yellow=dark coffee color.

The second stage (medium temperature stage): When the temperature reaches T1 (for example 21℃~45℃). At this time, the Turkish blue will disappear. The color you see is a mixture of red and yellow --- orange.

The third stage (high temperature stage): When the temperature reaches T2 (for example > 45℃), the red temperature change powder will disappear, leaving only the yellow base color (what you see with your naked eyes is actually orange turning yellow).

Make sure there is enough temperature difference between T1 and T2 (recommended ≥10℃) to avoid color overlap. Of course, if you want the temperature difference between TI and T2 to be <10℃, it is also possible, and you need to mix and test it yourself.


Quadruple color change thermal dust (4 Color Change thermochromic pigment)

3 colors of thermochromic pigment (for example 30℃ blue to colorless, 40℃ purple to colorless, 50℃ orange to colorless) + 1 color of fluorescent pigment (red fluorescent pigment)


Color change effect: Dark brown→warm purpleflame orange→Red quadruple color change thermal dust

4 ways to mix colors

1. Low temperature stage (for example <30℃): red base color + blue + purple + orange = Dark brown (It may also be warm gray-brown. You can mix the proportions of 4 colors to get different colors)

2. Medium and low temperature section (for example >30℃): At this time, the blue color at 30℃ will disappear first, and the color you see is red background + purple + orange = warm crimson purple (it may also be wine red. You can mix the proportions of 3 colors to get different colors)

3. Medium temperature section (for example >40℃): At this time, the purple color at 40℃ will disappear second, and the color you see is red background + orange = flame orange red (it may also be vermilion. You can mix the proportions of 2 colors to get different colors)

4. High temperature section (for example >50℃): At this time, the orange color at 50℃ will disappear third. At this stage, the colors of the three temperature-changing pinks have all disappeared. At this time, the red background will appear.

So, this 4-color change is heated from below 30℃ to above 50℃. The color change sequence is as follows:

Dark brown---warm purple---flame orange---red

In theory, if you need to make 4 color changes, 5 color changes, or more color changes, you can achieve the effect you need by mixing different temperature ranges and different colors of thermochromic pigments. Generally, it is recommended that the temperature difference between different temperatures is ≥10℃, and the effect is more obvious.
